Manage Self-Attestation for incomplete eLearning

Background

Users often report frustrating experiences with badly formed SCORM content that under a variety of circumstances may refuse to report a successful completion even though the learner has made every effort to complete it.  UniversitySite merely records what the content sends it so we can't fix the content problem itself, but we CAN offer a solution in the form of self-attestation.

How does this work?

When a user exits any eLearning and the content sends to UniversitySite a status of "Incomplete" we will display the following banner to the user.

We conveniently suggest one of three options to help the learner with this situation.

1. Resume playback and try to complete the course - It may be a legitimate "Incomplete" and you need to finish the content, so we suggest this first, but if you've already tried more than once you may not find this option helpful.

2. Override your status - This is the "Self-attestation" feature we've added which will allow the user to effectively resolve their "incomplete" course when they attest to a customizable message certifying by typing their name that they have indeed completed the content to the best of their knowledge.  UniversitySite actually records a grant on the back end and takes the additional step of removing this "incomplete" from their To Do list also.  (I'll update the screenshot soon to show that you type your own name, not "System Administrator" :)  )

3. Drop this course - maybe you don't want to mess with the course at all and don't really need to complete it.  Dropping the course removes the incomplete status and entry from your To Do List.
