Add Resources to a Plan

Background

Now that resources can exist independently of courses, I'm going to give you a reason to put some of them back in a course :).  Suppose you want to add several resources and make them part of someone's learning plan.  Well we don't support adding a resource directly to a plan, but you CAN add courses that basically just ARE resources to a plan.

Here's how we would accomplish this in UniversitySite:

Steps

  1. Create a course in UniversitySite of type On-Demand
  2. Select the On-Demand Content nav item on the far left to jump to that section
  3. Choose Generic Content as the Content Type
  4. Click the Add Generic Content link
  5. Specify either a URL or just click to Upload your policy document
  6. Decide what label you want to use to launch/view the policy and edit the Button Text accordingly
  7. Review the 3 options for Completion criteria that will make up the acknowledgment experience and adjust as desired

For a policy we might display a prompt like: "I have read the policy in its entirety." and we might set the button text for acknowledgment to "I agree".
  8. Save your Course using the blue button on the left.
  9. Give it a test spin using the View Policy button (note, the screenshots at the top of this article are from LearningSite)
  10. Once you are happy with your course that's basically a resource, just edit the plan in question and add this new "course" to it.
