Courses - Create eLearning Course (On-Demand SCORM Course)
Task
Creating an On-demand, SCORM based course is very similar to creating an instructor-led course, the difference being you have the additional step of uploading the zipped SCORM package to the course.
Note: We support all versions of SCORM 1.2 and 2004. We also support AICC content.
Tip: SCORM based On-demand courses are best suited to those situations where managing compliance is important to the firm, or when you want learners to be able to bookmark and resume their progress through the content. If these considerations aren't important for this course and it is only being provided as a resource and an aid to learners, consider just adding a new independent resource using an .mp4 instead and possibly if you want a course marked complete when the .mp4 is viewed, adding it as a generic On-demand resource to the course.
Steps
- Create a new course (see this article for help if needed)
- Select On-Demand as the Course Type
- Choose an appropriate Prefix, Number, and Duration for your course
- Select the On-Demand Content item in the quick menu on the left
- Select Add SCORM Package
- + Click here to upload a file
- Browse for your zipped SCORM package (should have an imanifest.xml file inside the zip if it is truly SCORM compliant)
- Save Course
Tip: If you need to bulk upload courses, please see How to bulk upload third party courses and content
Note: On-demand SCORM courses will appear in the videos tab of the On-demand page in LearningSite and will use the name of the course title, NOT the name of the zip package uploaded.
