InstructorSite / Global Settings / Users Login Settings
These settings govern user authentication. Changes to these settings run the risk of preventing user access.
If UniversitySite is installed on-premise, behind your firewall, it should be set to Windows Authentication.
Cloud sites should be set to one of the following SSO providers:
- ADFS
- Azure AD
- OKTA
- OneLogin
- SecureAuth
- UniversitySite SSO - this is a proprietary SSO service that leverages an IIS instance on-prem. It is recommended when no other SSO providers are available.
Account Lockout - For security purposes, user account passwords will be reset after the specified number of failed login attempts. In general, passwords are only needed when logging in outside of the firm's network if SSO isn't available. Users don't need to know their password so long as they have access to their email.
Remember Me - how long a device will remember who you are before requiring you to re-authenticate.
