New Features in UniversitySite 2017

  1. New Integrated Help System built into the entire application will always display the most current and relevant information for both Cloud and Behind the Firewall customers for each page you are viewing. No more searching 100+ page PDF documentation for the information you need or using the "Daniel" search engine :)
  2. New Independent Resource System with built-in migration tool to convert your existing resources 
  3. Brand new dashboard of reports designed to help instructors and training managers better manage learning and instructor activity by showing usage, content creation, and course and content aging information
  4. New Bulk Editor makes updating Courses, Events, Plans, Audiences, Tags, Departments, or Credits a snap
  5. Plans now support automatic deadline assignment based on enrollment date, hire date, or other simple criteria you choose
  6. Also for Plans there is now only one type of deadline that is flexible enough to allow adjusting deadlines for individuals as well as groups of selected users so it's much simpler to use.
  7. New Self-reporting system to record training taken off-site
  8. Now easily create any new UniversitySite element using a single convenient + menu in the nav bar
  9. New Users item in the Nav Bar provides easy access to learning activity for any user and view users by UniversitySite role, audience, department or active status
  10. Report finder search tool makes it easy to find which report has the data in it you are looking for
  11. Choose what fields you want included in any report you download to Excel; made sticky for each user and each report
  12. Individual plans, which include personal learning plans created by learners as well as those created by managers for their employees are now displayed easily for instructors in the Plans page

Significant Changes to LearningSite

  • LearningSite Videos are now found in the new On-Demand Nav bar item

  • Ability to register for multiple future events e.g. brown bag series

Significant Changes to InstructorSite

  • InstructorSite has been updated to match the look and feel of LearningSite
  • All editors have been redesigned to make them even easier to understand and use 
  • Departments, Tags, Audiences, and Credits are now found conveniently under the new More menu in the nav bar
  • Rosters and Attendance are now handled on the new Users tab for Events
  • Regulatory Agencies are now simply called Credits
  • Admin tools are now called Global Settings

Other Changes to LearningSite

  • Search boxes in LearningSite expanded to include 100 results
  • Credits tab on Learner Achievements page hidden by default to avoid confusion when tracking credits through Learning Plans. This can be re-enabled in the LearningSite Global Settings, Achievements Page section.

Other Changes to InstructorSite

  • Added Job Title to Learner Feedback report download to Excel (Thanks Brenda Parker)
  • ManagerSite Pending Approvals download to Excel now includes Work Phone and Section (Thanks Annalee Siller)
  • Course Attempts download to excel now includes OfferedbyDept (Thanks Carla Stockstill)
  • Learning Plan Report can now be filtered by any or all three LP statuses: Active, Staged, and Retired (Thanks Shannon Mahoney)
  • Report downloads to Excel now let you choose fields to download AND remember them for each report and for each InstructorSite running the report
  • Learning Plans can be copied (Thanks Shannon Mahoney)
  • Learning Plans now have an instructor notes field (Thanks Shannon Mahoney)
  • Renamed "Variable" deadlines to "Individual" to better denote the assignment of deadlines for each person on the enrollment tab for learning plans
  • Back by popular demand: easily change your time zone and location when testing your calendar in LearningSite; this feature is available to those with the Scheduler role and of course Administrators by clicking settings from the dropdown under your name in the upper right (Thanks Carla Stockstill)
  • On Learning Plan Notification Preview screen, show "Working" and disable send button after it has been clicked once to avoid accidentally spamming people with duplicates (Thanks Vivia Weller)
  • Instructors prompted to assign time zones to locations when they have locations without time zones assigned 
  • NEW System generated Managers audience now available which consists of all people who are managers in UniversitySite. This is especially convenient when scheduling training specifically for managers. (Thanks Dianne Phelps)
  • NEW Customizable sign in sheets are now available
  • UPDATED PLI integration now includes the ability to download course completion data automatically and add on demand videos to Learning Plans (Thanks Stacey Shupe)
  • NEW West Legal ED integration (Thanks Evie Amundson)
  • Added 10 years and none to rejection options for PLI and WLE sync
  • Added description as a variable for Learning Plan mail messages (Thanks Dede Ricard)

Fixes

  • Opt out button now grayed out when Plan is assigned  to a learner
  • ManagerSite approvals page has broken links
  • To avoid strange characters being inserted in email subjects when exchange encounters non-ASCII characters such as can occur when copying and pasting from WORD, they are now automatically replaced with spaces (Thanks Annalee Siller)
  • Notification of learning plan enrollment due to graduation/completion of linked plan now generates an enrollment notice to that graduate (Thanks Dan Bressler)
  • Learning Plan location filter in InstructorSite not populating with locations for users enrolled who did not have a "Company" filled in.  That requirement was removed. (Thanks, Danielle Nelson)
  • A notification goes out to a standby user that a seat is available after the event end time has passed when adding new seats to the event (Thanks Steve Pullan)
  • Correct description on Learning Plan Notifications to read: "Send reminders for deadlines and incomplete plans" instead of "Send enrollment and deadline reminders" (Thanks Karen Dunkin)
  • When updating a learning plan, do not send notifications to graduates of that plan UNLESS those updates will mean the previous graduate is no longer complete (additional requirements, changed deadline, etc) (Thanks Jeanne Marie)
  • When registering for an event that has remote extension, show the "You are currently registered" page not the registration page for other locations (Thanks, Cory Christmas)
  • When viewing a course in LearningSite, alternate dates should not appear for the same date/time when using "All locations" as your filter (Thanks Cory Christmas)
  • Learning Plans with only disabled user accounts enrolled in them are not visible in InstructorSite but are visible in LearningSite (Thanks Mary Lynn Fritz)
  • When declining a UniversitySite Invitation, display a new "You have declined" screen rather than the registration screen (Thanks Chris Swanson)
  • When applying credits to courses, update events associated with that course to award that amount of credits
  • Preferred Office setting removed to prevent confusion and problems and to allow time zones to be tied to office locations always
  • LearningSite - Time stamp incorrectly displays in GMT rather than user's local time zone for Learning Plan completions in the Home page activity feed. (Thanks Julie Clegg)

  • ManagerSite - Plans page, when impersonating, may show "no employees selected" (Thanks Gwen Woods and Katherine Anderson)
